Gucci Cruise
HD-Video, Sound, 2-Channel Video Installation, 6:20 Min., 2016, in collaboration with Paulina Nolte
Together with artist Paulina Nolte a 2-channel video installation was created in the context of the exhibition series HFBK Hugs. The work consists of two big screens positioned like two mirrors facing each other. Teen (Rosanna Graf) and Texas Woman (Paulina Nolte) are trapped in the reenactment of a picture taken from the Gucci Cruise 2016 fashion campaign. In Gucci Cruise the image of these two people arranged on a sofa seems to be mirrored. In fact the two characters are behaving like four individual persons reflecting their situation, playing power-games, contemplating, suffering and empowering each other. Always looking at themselves on the other side of the room. The audience is standing between the two screens and has to decide which screen to watch, while they are also constantly watched by the protagonists who look at the camera / their reflection / the visitor.
