Time Travel 788 – Der Markt ist nicht wie der Himmel
HD-Video, Sound, Colour, 15:08 Min., 2016, in collaboration with Marko Mijatovic
After a crash three time-traveling stewardesses are thrown through time and space uncontrollably. They always wake up inside a dark forest, without knowing where they are or what year it is. As they try to get out of their misery, they keep on getting possessed by entities and vibrations that speak through them. The darkness around them becomes an image for their lack of orientation. Through growing confusion over spacial and time related dispositions, the women get caught up in new forming dependency relations. In this emergency situation the purserette is keen on keeping her supremacy, although the collapse of her mental health increases to be tangible to her subordinates. But how much insanity does the corporate business language contain anyway? Hierarchic structures of work infiltrate personal relationships. When does the job end? When will the stewardesses step out of their incorporated roles and become agent, thinking individuals? The voices, that seem to come from the ether, are voices of the incorporated patriarchy, who predict the apocalypse. The demise of the system they originate from. The film is a search with, through and against time and will begin and end in a dark forest.
